Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated People & Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our People & Development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth onboarding and day-to-day care of our lawyers, paralegals, and non-legal staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Onboarding: You will lead the induction process and HR processes for all new starters, including processing engagement letters, assignment notifications, and onboarding items using our automated onboarding platform.
  • Line management and on-assignment care and development: You will have line management responsibility for your lawyers and paralegals, and coordinate the day-to-day care and development of our senior lawyer pool.
  • Troubleshooting: You will use your initiative to assist in troubleshooting and solving problems across a range of issues.
  • Coordination and communication: You will be responsible for escalating key commercial issues to senior members of the client account team and working with them to ensure the right solution is delivered quickly and efficiently.
  • Learning and development: You will work with the Head of People & Development to structure and implement career development frameworks and deliver learning and development opportunities.
  • Projects: You will assist the People and Development team on projects as they arise, including lawyer events, training, and system enhancements.
  • Operations: You will drive excellence in operations across the People & Development team and connect those operations into the wider business.

You should have authentic and clear communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

In addition to the general attributes noted above, our ideal candidate for this role will also have the ability to quickly gain credibility and respect from highly qualified professionals, ideally have some understanding of the legal or other professional services sector, and be experienced in engaging with technology, the internet, and social media in a business context.
