Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled quantity surveyor to join our team as an Assistant Construction Estimator. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing budgets, collaborating with project managers, evaluating subcontractor agreements, monitoring project costs, producing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Estimating: Prepare detailed estimates for construction projects, including material costs, labor costs, and other expenses.
  2. Cost Management: Develop and implement cost control strategies to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
  3. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective project coordination.
  4. Negotiation: Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements to secure the best possible deals.
  5. Reporting: Produce regular financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and relevant legislation.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in quantity surveying with JCT contract knowledge is essential.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in industry-related software and tools.

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
