Instrumentation Control Automation Engineering Apprentice

Yorkshire Water is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Instrumentation Control Automation Engineering Apprentice to join our Asset Delivery Maintenance Team. As an apprentice, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing the assets that allow our process plant to be automated, as well as the technology that monitors our installations 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop competence in Health, Safety, and Environmental management
  • Carry out safe isolation to current IET regulations
  • Carry out fault finding techniques on control circuits up to PLC
  • Produce maintenance reports
  • Program PLCs, including Schneider, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi equipment
  • Maintain, calibrate, and certify analytical instrumentation
  • Fault finding and repair of Safety instrument Loops
  • Work in accordance with Yorkshire Water Task Lists, Safe Working Procedures, and safe systems of work
Requirements:
  • 5 GCSEs grades A-C or 4-9 including English, mathematics, and a Science subject
  • A full UK driving license
  • An ability to pass a color-blind assessment
  • An ability to demonstrate an interest in Engineering and/or Programming through either work experience, a hobby, or a qualification
