Job Overview

You will be responsible for driving digital content strategy at the Racing Post, shaping our website and app, and ensuring our content reaches and engages a broad audience of racing enthusiasts and sports bettors.

This role is based in London, UK, and we operate a hybrid system. The successful applicant will be expected to work in the office on a minimum of two days a week.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead Digital Content Operations: Oversee digital content operations across racingpost.com and the Racing Post app, ensuring content is fresh, relevant, and meets the needs of our audience.
  2. Mentor and Inspire Your Team: Lead, inspire, and mentor your team to deliver high-quality, compelling content. Champion best practices in digital storytelling, ensuring optimal presentation, impactful headlines, and skillful use of engaging multimedia such as images and video.
  3. Drive Excellence in Content Curation: Drive standards of excellence in content curation, headlining, and layout, participating in the digital editing process when necessary. Ensure all content is optimised for engagement and conversion, using data-driven insights to guide editorial decisions.
  4. Collaborate with Editorial Teams: Collaborate with the wider editorial team to plan, commission, and execute world-class digital content, particularly around high-impact events like major racing festivals and breaking news.
  5. Develop Audience Growth Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to drive audience growth, retention, and conversion across our digital platforms. Use data and analytics to assess content performance and refine strategies for maximum impact.
  6. Foster Cross-Team Collaboration: Foster cross-team collaboration, working closely with social, SEO, video, and marketing teams to align content and engagement plans.
  7. Improve Digital Platforms: Collaborate with product and technology teams to continuously improve and evolve our digital platforms, ensuring they offer the best possible user experience and functionality for our customers.
  8. Use Analytics to Drive Performance: Use analytics and customer insights to identify digital opportunities, drive performance improvements, and report regularly to stakeholders.
Requirements
  1. Experience in Digital Publishing: Experience working in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.
  2. Leadership Experience: Experience managing and leading high-performance teams.
  3. Content Strategy Expertise: Experience of developing and delivering content strategies and associated initiatives.
  4. Digital Landscape Awareness: Strong awareness of the digital publishing landscape, emerging trends, and audience behaviour.
About You

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a range of well-being initiatives, including private medical insurance, excellent parental leave, a working globally policy, mental health support, assistance programs, and social gatherings.
