About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Management Specialist to lead our manufacturing operations at our Telford facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, maintenance, and safety of the facility, ensuring compliance with UK health and safety regulations and environmental standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Maintenance
    Oversee the maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and building structure to ensure a high standard of upkeep.
    Plan and execute repairs and upgrades to manufacturing equipment and infrastructure, developing preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    Evaluate and improve the implementation of safety policies and procedures across the manufacturing site, collaborating with the Health & Safety Officer to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Budget Management
    Manage the facilities budget effectively, negotiating contracts with external vendors and tracking expenditures to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Equipment Management
    Oversee the maintenance and efficient use of manufacturing equipment, maintaining a log of inventory and spare parts to ensure timely replacement.
  • Team Leadership
    Lead and manage a team of facilities technicians and support staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement through training, guidance, and performance reviews.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Support lean manufacturing initiatives, collaborating with production teams to identify areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance operational efficiency.

Your Background

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in facilities management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. A proven track record of compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, along with excellent problem-solving skills and experience managing budgets, will be essential.

Salary: £42,000 - £52,000 per annum, dependent on experience
