About the Role

The Assistant Headteacher will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for driving the school's vision and values. They will work closely with the senior leadership team, teachers, and support staff to ensure high standards of education and quality across the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop the school's ethos, values, and overall purposes.
  • Lead the development of the curriculum, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of all pupils.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies for improving the quality of education and technology.
  • Support teachers in understanding the importance of quality first teaching and the role they play in delivering the curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of education across the school, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to address them.
  • Lead the development of a clear and effective curriculum intent and implementation plan.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to ensure that all staff have high expectations of what pupils can achieve and are committed to ensuring that pupils make the most of their learning opportunities.
  • Ensure that teacher subject knowledge is secure and up-to-date, and that staff are supported in their professional development.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of teaching and learning standards across the school, responding to under-performance through training, coaching, and individual support packages.
  • Lead the development of a strong pupil voice, ensuring that pupils are given opportunities to reflect on the quality of education and care within the school.

Qualifications and Experience

  • QTS
  • Bachelor's Degree
