Job Title: Senior Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our team in a secure hospital setting. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for supervising a defined group of team members and contributing to their overall CPD, mandatory training, and appraisal process.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of care planning processes and be fully familiar with clinical assessment tools. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work within a team as well as independently.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate initiative and be adaptive and flexible, with a can-do attitude. In return for your hard work and commitment, you will receive an excellent annual salary of £37,992 - £40,455 per annum DOE, as well as a range of benefits including a £5,000 welcome bonus, relocation support, and payment into the pension scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a defined group of team members and contribute to their overall CPD, mandatory training, and appraisal process
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans
  • Evaluate and respond to changes in patients' condition and needs
  • Provide a high standard of care to people with mental illness and personality disorder
  • Develop therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement
  • Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress
  • Lead shifts and mentor and support student nurses and other members of the team
  • Follow all codes of conduct, standards, and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice
