SHEQ Compliance Specialist

This exciting role as an SHEQ Administrator will be based in Peterborough and involves working closely with the Accounts/Purchasing Manager to ensure supplier compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective systems for controlling documents and tracking changes.
- Monitor and assess supplier performance to ensure alignment with quality and safety standards.
- Manage the administration of the Non-compliance system and the Customer Satisfaction system, which includes sending regular surveys to customers.
- Oversee the maintenance of the March Intra-net ISO Objectives Page and facilitate the submission of Dare To Care reports.
- Prepare the SHEQ monthly board pack and lead the IMS internal audit programme, verifying that all necessary steps are completed and documenting any actions taken.
- Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager to prepare for external audits and ensure that accurate records of corrective and preventive actions are kept up-to-date.
- Manage the SHEQ training matrix and e-learning initiatives, including sending reminders to the management team and uploading completion certificates.
- Conduct regular internal audits according to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards and coordinate the procurement of goods and services.
- Update the training matrix with health and safety-related training and support the SHEQ Manager in creating monthly toolbox talks.
- Facilitate the health and safety aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, arrange post-employment health assessments, and distribute e-learning materials as needed.
- Serve as a first aider, appointed person, and fire marshal, conducting regular fire drills and equipment checks.
- Contribute to the company's overall success by taking on additional tasks as needed and delivering comprehensive induction programs, including face fit testing.
- Manage the company's assets, performing routine inspections of ladders and step ladders, as well as harness checks.
About the Role
- The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality principles and aspire to advance to a SHEQ advisor position.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail, able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Holding the IOSH Managing Safely certification is highly desirable.
