About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team in Lincolnshire. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • IEP and BSP Implementation: Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) to ensure students receive tailored support.
  • Collaboration with Educational Professionals: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other educational professionals to develop personalised learning experiences for students.
  • Emotional Well-being: Foster a secure and nurturing atmosphere, prioritising the emotional well-being of students.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience working within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision, or SEMH School.
  • Key Stage Experience: Experience supporting Key stage 3 and 4 students on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Passion for Education: Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and a commitment to positively impacting young lives.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy and Patience: Be a patient and empathetic educator, with a clear understanding of verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Safeguarding: Be committed to safeguarding, child protection, and championing the welfare of children and young people.
