Education Assistant

About the Role
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic classroom support specialist to work in a dynamic primary school. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning needs, providing one-on-one and group support to help students understand and master various subjects, develop and implement learning strategies, and work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to create tailored learning plans that address the specific needs of each student, regularly reviewing and adjusting these plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
- Offer one-on-one interventions to help students understand and master various subjects, using evidence-based strategies to support students in developing positive learning habits and overcoming challenges.
- Provide feedback to teachers and adjust support strategies as necessary, ensuring a cohesive approach to student development.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included, catering to the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
- Report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and needs of primary students.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community, including students, parents, and colleagues.
- Exhibit patience and empathy in your interactions, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students to thrive.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education are desirable but not essential, as we are committed to providing opportunities for professional development and growth.
