About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our midwifery team as a student midwife. This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in a dynamic and rapidly changing healthcare environment.

As a student midwife, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced midwives and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to women and their families. You will be responsible for providing holistic care throughout the preconception, antenatal, intra-partum, and postnatal periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • To attain a registered midwifery qualification by completing a 24-month Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery.
  • To communicate effectively with women and their families, providing a high standard of midwifery care under the supervision of a Registered Midwife/Mentor.
  • To diagnose pregnancy, assess, and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intra-partum, and postnatal stages using a range of assessment methods.
  • To work towards achieving the midwifery standards of proficiency agreed with the HEI provider and set out in the Midwifery Practice Assessment Document.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Nursing (Level 1) with current registration with the NMC.
  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2:2, or equivalent qualification, with evidence of study at Level 6.
  • At least 6 months' post-qualification clinical working experience as an adult nurse on the NMC register in the UK.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work in a multicultural environment and demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to care.
