Child Development Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Development Specialist to join our team in Hammersmith. As an Educational Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in promoting the achievement and well-being of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or other barriers to their learning and development.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a targeted and specialist psychological service to schools, providing high-quality advice, consultation, assessment, intervention, research, and training functions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other practitioners, and a deep understanding of child development principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality advice to the local authority on statutory psychological matters.
  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations for individual students and schools.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student attainment and well-being.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to design and deliver staff development and training programs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Doctoral degree in Educational Psychology or a related field.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
