Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Gear Grinder to join our team at Shorterm Group. The primary responsibility of this role is to grind gear teeth to drawing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a wide range of measuring equipment to inspect components.
  • Develop and interpret instructions and procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Operate machines and processes to achieve precise results.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products to ensure quality standards.
  • Analyze information to find the best solutions to problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain clear and honest communication at all times with colleagues and management.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental instructions.
  • Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Support all relevant 5S activities and report any near misses to management.
  • Ensure proper disposal of waste and report any job-related issues to the line manager.
  • Undertake any additional responsibilities within your skills and abilities as required by the business.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Recognised engineering qualification preferred.
  • Practical, mechanically oriented with good problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines is ideal.

Key Attributes:

  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role.

Performance Indicators:

  • Successful completion of tasks within the allocated time with zero faults.
