Job Title: Grinder

We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our team at Orion Rail. As a Grinder, you will be responsible for conducting engineering practices to complete grinding of gear teeth to drawing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use of measuring equipment to check components.
  • Interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
  • Obtaining relevant information from sources.
  • Controlling machines and processes.
  • Performing inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
  • Analysing information and finding solutions to problems.
  • Maintaining clear and honest communication.
  • Keeping the work environment safe.
  • Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge.
  • Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-year experience in rail or automotive industry.
  • Previous experience of Reishauer, Niles, and Pfauter gear grinding machines advantageous.
  • Recognised engineering qualification required.
  • Self-motivated.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum NVQ/City and Guilds Level 3 in a recognised Engineering discipline.
  • Full apprenticeship in a Mechanical discipline.
