Digital Preservation Coalition - Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Conservation and Digitisation Specialist to join our team and play a key role in the preservation and conservation of historical documents. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for collection care and a desire to work on innovative digitisation projects.

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of paper conservation practices and experience in managing large-scale digitisation operations. As Conservation and Digitisation Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and conservation of historical documents, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing teams and supervising external contractors, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be expected to bring high professional standards to all aspects of the role and contribute to the development of best practice in collection care through innovation and expertise.

About the Role

  • Lead the preparation and conservation of historical documents.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Manage a team of conservation professionals and supervise external contractors.
  • Contribute to the development of best practice in collection care through innovation and expertise.
