School Caretaker Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced individual to join our Primary School in Northampton as a permanent full-time School Caretaker.

Estimated Salary: £23,893.00 - £24,294.00 per annum (FTE).

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and security of the school premises, including routine maintenance and minor repairs as required.

About the Role:

  • Secure the site daily by opening and closing the premises.
  • Maintain fire and burglar alarms, ensuring they function correctly at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of emergency equipment service history.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as required.
  • Ensure the building and grounds are secure when not in use.
  • Operate the heating, lighting, and alarm systems to guarantee their functionality.
  • Order necessary equipment for your role.
  • Arrange furniture storage, movement, and setup according to school schedules or external requirements.
  • Assist in recruiting and selecting cleaning staff.
  • Supervise and train cleaning staff on health and safety procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain high cleaning standards throughout the building.

About You:

  1. Prior experience working within a school environment.
  2. A valid DBS certificate on the DBS update service.
  3. Immediate availability for interviews and starting work.
