Profit Protection Data Analyst

Job Purpose
To provide data-driven support to the Profit Protection team at Halfords, enabling the reduction of company losses and driving business growth through accurate and timely data analysis.
Job Context
The Profit Protection team is an independent function designed to add value and reduce loss. This role requires a high level of analytical skill and the ability to identify potentially fraudulent transactions.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Profit Protection team and other stakeholders to produce data-driven insights, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis of data using Halfords' data systems and visualization tools, including SAP BW, SAP finance, Alteryx, Power Bi, and IDM Data Mining.
- Management of the annual stocktake programme, including reporting of losses, scheduling of stocktakes, and liaison with external providers and the IT department.
- Production and maintenance of monthly and weekly stockloss reports, including dashboards and regular reports for various stakeholders.
- Collaboration with the Profit Protection team on key projects and initiatives.
- Support for the field team and Fraud Investigators in investigating store-specific losses and fraud cases.
- Key point of contact for Profit Protection-related queries in the support centre.
- Recommendation and implementation of enhanced reports and system improvements.
- Departmental Super User for Data Mining, BW, Alteryx, Power BI, and other systems.
- Attendance at key Profit Protection and Finance meetings.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of SAP BW, Excel, MS Office 365, Alteryx, SQL, and Power Bi.
- A strong instinct to identify discrepancies in large data samples.
- Understanding of Data Mining technologies.
- Experience of support centre and store environments.
- Strong team working skills.
- High levels of personal integrity.
- Impact and influencing skills.
- Able to prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines.
- Full driving licence and ability to stay away from home if required.
