Job Summary:

Better Days Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Governance and Compliance to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing a robust governance framework and reporting function, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with relevant requirements.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with our senior leadership team, including the Group Head of GRC, the Group CISO, and the Head of Information Security, to promote a culture of governance and compliance across the organization. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive governance framework that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining a robust reporting function that provides accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective governance and compliance across the organization.
  • Providing strategic guidance and support to senior leadership on governance and compliance matters.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as technology, information security, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in a large, complex organization, ideally within the financial services or regulated industries.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in governance, compliance, risk management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Deep understanding of corporate governance principles, risk management frameworks, and reporting standards.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to governance and compliance.
  • Collaborative and relationship-building skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A Master's degree or professional certifications in a relevant field, such as CISA, CISM, or CGEIT.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices in governance and compliance.
  • Sound analytical skills to extract insights from information and provide strategic guidance.
  • Proficiency in governance and reporting software tools to support effective reporting and compliance.
