Primary Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Primary Care Nurse to join our team at HMP Brinsford, a prison and YOI for men located in Wolverhampton. As a Primary Care Nurse, you will be an integral part of our healthcare team, providing high-quality care to our patients and contributing to our mission to deliver outstanding evidence-based care.
About the RoleAs a Primary Care Nurse, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions. Your responsibilities will include undertaking medication rounds, dispensing controlled medication, attending emergency response situations, assessing patients, and undertaking reception screening. You will use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group, while being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to our patients
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver a nurse-led service
- Undertake medication rounds and dispense controlled medication
- Attend emergency response situations and assess patients
- Undertake reception screening and provide administrative support
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A Registered Nurse (Adult) qualification and current NMC registration
- Experience of working in a hospital, community, or prison environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
