Job Title: Consultant Cardiac Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Cardiac Surgeon to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a centre of excellence for cardiac surgery, we are committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours work
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the cardiac theatres
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Develop and implement training programs for junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals
Person Specification:
  • FRCS/MRCS FRCS (C/Th) or equivalent
  • Wide clinical experience in Adult Cardiac Surgery, including CABG surgery

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience of independent practice
  • Relevant experience in organisation and undertaking of Audit

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Additional Higher Degree (e.g. PhD, MD, MSc)
  • Evidence of possession of management skills
  • Leadership/professional development course
