Precision Engineering Technician

We are recruiting for a talented Precision Engineering Technician to join our team at South West Recruitment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a global engineering group specializing in the design and manufacture of engineer-to-order highly specialized flow control valves.
The company collaborates with leading international companies in over 50 countries to deliver innovative engineering solutions to address global trends such as clean energy, energy efficiency, healthcare, and increasing automation. This role requires an individual with a sound understanding of modern manufacturing methods, capable of evaluating processes through capability studies and equipment reviews. The ideal candidate will possess experience in use of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques, such as VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Error proofing etc.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing all relevant documentation, routings, procedures, programs, tooling, and equipment to enable the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear, and Marine sectors. They will support skilled operators with production of both prototypes and production products and liaise with design engineering to overcome production and testing issues.
Key responsibilities include using CAM software to produce programs for various multi-axis CNC machines, creating set-up sheets for CNC machines, supporting the prove-out of new programs across CNC machines, and ensuring updated CNC programs are returned in a timely manner. Additionally, they will assist with improvements to a wide range of production techniques for machining of components, including manual machining, CNC machining, deburring, component finishing, cleaning, and metrology.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 per annum
