MERITUS Talent is working with a world-renowned defence organisation to find a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all Mechanical designs and conducting Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Thermal Analysis (CFD) as part of a dynamic Mechanical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support all Mechanical designs and conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Thermal Analysis (CFD).
  2. Provide customers with a direct point of contact whilst liaising with manufacturers and test houses.
  3. Sign off all mechanical designs, ensuring the mechanical team conforms to applicable processes during design, development, and build.
  4. Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
  5. Produce, review, and approve technical documentation to support on-time programme delivery.
  6. Organise all Computer Aided Design (CAD) aspects to perform efficiently and effectively using a variety of CAD applications.

About You:

  1. Strong experience in a Mechanical Design Engineering position.
  2. Engineering degree in a related discipline (or extensive mechanical design experience without a degree).
  3. Understanding and working knowledge of mechanical related Defence Standards.
  4. Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment.
  5. Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
