About the Role

The successful candidate will provide site-specific and strategic flood risk advice to clients involved in development, land use planning, and flood risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directing, coordinating, and undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF and/or Flood Consequence Assessment in accordance with TAN15
  • Providing planning-related advice in relation to flood risk and drainage for projects in England and Wales
  • Developing solutions and assessing options for flood risk mitigation
  • Supporting, managing, or directing the delivery of high-quality projects to programme and budget requirements
  • Preparing fee proposals and tenders, and undertaking business development activities
Requirements
  • Chartered status (CIWEM or ICE) is important to the consultancy and valued by their clients to be able to demonstrate experience of working in the UK development and flood risk sector
  • Excellent knowledge and awareness of the UK planning process and policy
  • Effective technical report writing skills and verbal communication skills, to explain complex technical issues to non-specialists
  • Quality assurance and review expertise
  • Project management, including contract and commercial awareness
  • Familiarity in working in GIS and CAD formats
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word/Excel)
