About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team in Haematology and Blood Transfusion at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing a high-quality service to our patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of complex investigations to assist in the diagnosis of disease and monitoring of treatment. This will involve rotation through Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion, and Immunohaematology, using manual, semi-automated, and automated techniques on highly specialized analytical equipment.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in Biomedical Sciences, with a BSc or equivalent degree accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). The ideal candidate will have current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Specialist Portfolio or MSc. They will also have substantive post-registration experience and competency in required activities, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
