About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our team in Haematology and Blood Transfusion at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in providing a high-quality service to our patients, working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve this goal.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a range of complex investigations to assist in the diagnosis of disease and monitoring of treatment. This will involve rotation through Haematology, Coagulation, Blood Transfusion, and Immunohaematology. You will be required to work out of hours/night/weekend shifts, with local agreements in place for payment to cover working patterns outside of the Agenda for Change hours.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with a BSc Biomedical Sciences or Degree accredited by IBMS as suitable for HCPC registration. You will also need to have a Specialist portfolio and/or MSc, as well as current HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist. Essential knowledge and experience include substantive post-registration experience/competency in required activities, referable in the UK, and experience of use of relevant instrumentation within the laboratory. You will also need to be able to work to an appropriate standard of competency in all sections, and through rotation, maintain those skills.
