The company, a leading provider of integrated power and communications solutions in the UK, is seeking an experienced Head of Financial Services to join its expanding finance team. As a strategic financial leader, you will play a vital role in driving the company's continued success and growth.

Job Summary

This newly created position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversees key financial operations, including treasury, tax, insurance, company secretarial, and statutory accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to implement strong financial discipline and control, fostering a culture of responsibility, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the organization.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of overall cash management, financing agreements, banking, bonds, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, including PAYE, Corporation Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), and IR35, collaborating closely with external tax advisors.
  • Management of insurance policies, encompassing Directors' and Officers' liability, main liability, and cyber insurance.
  • Overseeing company secretarial services, equity, Private Equity reporting, and filings.
  • Providing notes and information for statutory accounts.
  • Coordinating financial plans with organizational goals to ensure sustained growth and stability.
  • Leading efforts to update finance operations and ensure adherence to financial laws.
Requirements:
  • Professional accounting qualification (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) preferred).
  • Relevant experience in both practice and industry, preferably with a proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Proven ability to maintain excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial control and reporting.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to lead complex financial services.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to clearly explain technical issues to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in tax and treasury, with an interest in developing expertise in other financial areas.
