Powder Coating Technician

We are seeking a skilled Powder Coating Technician to join our team at Impress Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for applying powder coatings to a variety of components, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets our stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply powder coatings to components using electrostatic powder coating equipment.
  • Operate and maintain powder coating equipment, including ovens and spray booths.
  • Prepare surfaces for coating, including cleaning, and masking.
  • Ensure components are coated to the correct thickness and finish, adhering to industry and customer specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on coated components, using equipment such as Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurement tools.
  • Handle and apply a variety of wet paint systems, including multi-coat systems, if trained to do so.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Powder Coating Technician, with additional experience in wet painting preferred.
  • Knowledge of different powder and wet paint systems and their applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
