Infection Control Specialist

The Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Specialist at Independent Health Group plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of safe and hygienic care to patients by minimizing the risk of infection transmission.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity requires an experienced IPC professional to develop, implement, and manage infection prevention and control programs across our theatre environments.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive infection prevention and control programs tailored to our theatres.
- Establishing and updating infection control policies and procedures based on current guidelines and best practices.
- Conducting regular training sessions for staff on infection prevention protocols and proper PPE usage.
- Educating staff on hygiene practices, including hand hygiene, wound management, and respiratory etiquette.
- Performing regular risk assessments to identify potential infection hazards within our theatres.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of infection control measures through regular audits and surveillance activities.
- Oversight of cleaning and disinfection protocols for all theatre areas.

RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you will require:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IPC, preferably in a healthcare or social care setting.
- Experience in IPC in a theatre environment and ventilation requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of infection control principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
- Able to work on own initiative, identify own learning needs, and be flexible and adaptable to change.
- Effective written and verbal skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and high self-confidence.
- Current NMC registration, educated to degree level or equivalent experience, and recognized qualification in Infection Control or equivalent experience.
We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for career progression and professional development.
