Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our team at ATA Sameday. This role requires a proactive and organized individual who can ensure efficient package routing, optimize cost per package, and maintain a smooth day-to-day operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Package Routing and Optimization: Ensure efficient package routing and optimize cost per package to minimize expenses.
  2. Process Improvement: Regularly assess current processes and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  3. Team Management: Conduct daily team meetings, document discussions, and provide follow-up for future reference.
  4. Data Analysis: Gather and analyze data for each merchant, creating detailed profiles and providing feedback on any issues to stakeholders.
  5. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for each merchant site and work alongside the Warehouse Manager to ensure all working environments are H&S compliant.
  6. Accident Reporting: Ensure accidents are reported promptly to the insurance department.
  7. Fleet Management: Maintain communication with the fleet department to ensure the fleet is operating smoothly.
  8. Recruitment: Maintain a focus on recruitment, ensuring enough drivers are active and available in the pipeline.
  9. Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding process for new merchants.
  10. Administrative Tasks: Handle general administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential for this role.
  2. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are required to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  3. Standard Operating Procedures: Experience in writing and communicating standard operating procedures is desirable.
  4. ISO27001 Knowledge: Knowledge of ISO27001 is desirable but not essential.
  5. Forklift Licence: A forklift licence is required for this role.
  6. Fire Marshall Certificate: A Fire Marshall Certificate is also required.
