Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Charity Shop Manager to lead our new fundraising project, a charity shop to help further our charitable support. The successful candidate will have significant expertise and experience in retail and/or charity retail with an enthusiastic approach to charitable fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Charity Shop: Oversee the daily operations of the charity shop, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for customers and staff.
- Lead the Team: Motivate and lead a team of staff and volunteers to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Develop Sales Strategies: Create and implement sales strategies to increase revenue and promote the charity's mission.
- Manage Stock and Inventory: Oversee the receipt, storage, and sale of donated goods, ensuring accurate stock control and minimal waste.
- Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure the shop is well-presented, clean, and safe for customers and staff.
- Manage Finances: Handle cash handling, banking, and financial record-keeping, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Report to Management: Provide regular reports to the Chief Executive on shop performance, sales, and any issues.
Requirements:
- At least three years of experience in retail management, preferably in a charity retail environment.
- Proven track record of success in sales and fundraising.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-sufficient and target-driven, with a passion for charitable fundraising.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in managing a team and leading volunteers.
- Knowledge of charity retail planning and fundraising strategies.
Working Hours: The successful candidate will work the equivalent of 5 days a week, with flexibility to work weekends and attend meetings as necessary.
