The Senior Buyer will be responsible for leading the full 360 Supplier Management process. This includes initiating and delivering cost savings projects, completing tender events from cradle to grave, negotiating contracts, and ensuring strong vendor and stakeholder relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Savings

  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for nominated products and services, working closely with inter-companies and Group Purchasing to identify opportunities for global leverage and synergy of volumes and purchasing power.
  • Formulate and achieve annual cost reductions, in addition to year-over-year supplier performance improvement, focusing on price, delivery/service, and cycle performance.
  • Lead tender events, ensuring completed RFQ packages are completed on time, in full, and on plan, taking into account Total Cost of Ownership (T.C.O) including warranty, spares, and incoterms.
  • Provide completed documentation for review, including total landed cost analysis, taking into account duty, freight, packaging, surcharge, payment terms, and other financial factors.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Monitor supplier performance and working relationships, risk assessments, audit results, and elevate issues within the supplier's organization for resolution, understanding and reviewing corrective actions for sustained results.
  • Hold regular key supplier review meetings with stakeholders and measure compliance to KPIs.
  • Coordinate supplier selection and lead supplier (re)source activities, working with all relevant functions to identify and select qualified suppliers for both local purchases and export.
  • Manage the supply chain to ensure optimum workflows and take active steps to remove non-value-added work, challenging the status quo and engaging support from other functional groups.

Contract Management

  • Manage and negotiate supply agreements that require improvements in suppliers' cost, delivery, quality, order lead time, payment cycles, technology, and/or risk mitigation, in alignment with terms and conditions.
  • Support new programs teams on time, on cost, and in alignment with the budget set by the business, as part of a cross-functional team.

Personal Attributes:

Strong organizational skills, excellent negotiation skills, good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and ability to maintain control of multiple projects to meet timing and business needs.

Fundamental computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project, and ability to work effectively in a team environment, well-organized with the ability to work effectively under pressure, experience of implementing Vendor Managed Inventory Solutions, and ability to work well with others, build and maintain positive employee relations, maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact.

Proven strong experience of using SAP, including raising schedule agreements and POs, and honest with a high level of integrity, and VA/VE experience in a similar industry.
