Gentle Support Assistant Required

We are seeking a kind and understanding personal assistant to support a 74-year-old lady with Alzheimer's.

The ideal candidate will be patient, calm, and willing to help with daily tasks while providing companionship and encouragement in her pursuits.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while providing practical assistance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide companionship and encouragement to ensure her well-being.
  • Assist with light household tasks such as meal preparation and laundry.
  • Prepare simple meals, including sandwiches and hot drinks.
  • Support personal care as required, with gentle encouragement.
  • Acompany her on walks around the village with our friendly Labrador Retriever cross (weather permitting).
Essential Qualifications:
  • Calm, reassuring, caring, and patience.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and respect for privacy.
  • Comfortable around dogs.
Bonus Points:
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate individual needs.
  • Shared interests in gardening, cooking, or travel.
Terms and Conditions:
  • Rate of pay: £11.68 per hour.
  • Hours and times of work: 15 hours per week, discussed further at interview.
  • Three days per week: Tuesday, Friday, Sunday. Hours: 5 hours per day.
  • Annual holiday entitlement: equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks.
  • Free Care Skills training provided.
  • DBS check and satisfactory references required.

Estimated salary: £13,142.40 per annum (based on 20 hours per week at £11.68 per hour).
