Job Title: Libraries and Communities Manager

Glasgow Life is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Libraries and Communities Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Libraries and Communities service, you will be responsible for leading the development of Glasgow's community library service and the Mitchell Library.

The Role

As Libraries and Communities Manager, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and inspiring a team of managers to maximize public participation in library venues and programs across the city. You will also lead on the delivery of Glasgow's library strategy, Vision for Glasgow Libraries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of Glasgow's community library service and the Mitchell Library.
  • Manage and develop a team of managers to maximize public participation in library venues and programs.
  • Deliver Glasgow's library strategy, Vision for Glasgow Libraries.
  • Work collaboratively with local communities and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop services that meet those needs.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Committed to improving scope, quality, and take-up of services.
  • Proven experience of working with local communities and understanding their needs.
Benefits
  • 30 days holiday allowance plus 6.5 public holidays (for full-time roles). After 5 years completed service, the entitlement will increase to 35 days from the next annual leave year.
