About the Role

Glasgow Life is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Libraries and Communities Manager (Libraries Development) to join our team. As a key member of our Libraries and Communities service, you will be responsible for leading the development of our community library service and the Mitchell Library, including stock and collections, reader development and literacy, key national attainment programmes, and activities and programming for all library audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the development of Glasgow's community library service and the Mitchell Library, including stock and collections, reader development and literacy, key national attainment programmes, and activities and programming for all library audiences.
  • Manage, develop and inspire an experienced team of managers maximising public participation in library venues and programmes across the city.
  • Lead on the delivery of Glasgow's library strategy, Vision for Glasgow Libraries.
Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Committed to improving scope, quality and take up of services.
  • Proven experience of working with local communities and understanding their needs.
What We Offer
  • 30 days holiday allowance plus 6.5 public holidays (for full-time roles). After 5 years completed service, the entitlement will increase to 35 days from the next annual leave year.
