Job Summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Receptionist/Telephonist to join our team. As a key member of our Sexual Health Services, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Main Responsibilities

Provide non-clinical advice and information to patients on outpatient procedures, appointments, and clinic arrangements.

Communicate effectively with patients and staff, often over the telephone, to ensure seamless service delivery.

Prepare patient files for clinics, accurately filing results and contacting relevant departments as needed.

Ensure adequate stocks of stationery and clinical equipment, ordering as required, and checking receipts.

Work independently, taking sole responsibility for reception duties, using initiative and working within Department guidelines.

Requirements

GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English Grade C or above.

Previous reception experience, with a strong background in general clerical duties, office systems, and customer-facing environments.

Computer literacy to a high standard, with excellent interpersonal and social skills.

Able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, remain calm, and confident in manner, with a strong understanding of confidentiality.
