About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a key member in driving audience growth through data-driven insights, innovative storytelling formats, and close collaboration with marketing teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader and strategic thinker with a passion for news, analytics, and community building.

The successful candidate will oversee the creation and implementation of audience development strategies across search, social, and subscriber engagement. This includes collaborating with our Editorial Data Lead and Director of Data & Insight to determine our editorial data strategy and develop our tooling.

You will drive initiatives that enhance content discoverability, such as SEO, mobile-first content, and innovative storytelling formats for new and diverse audiences. Additionally, you will present regularly at news conferences, highlighting key audience metrics and providing feedback on editorial projects.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in audience development and content strategy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. You should have a strong understanding of editorial compliance and regulatory issues. Leadership and people management skills are essential for this role.
