About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of People Strategy to join our team at Wellcome Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering our people framework to support our mission, leading on embedding our culture, values, and behaviors across the organization.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure we attract, retain, develop, and drive performance in talented individuals who deliver our mission.
  • Optimize our organizational culture to support delivering our mission, improving engagement with and connection to the mission.
  • Create a high-performing organization through leadership development initiatives and metrics-driven decision-making.
  • Lead change and transformation projects from a people perspective, leveraging technology and AI to enhance colleague experience and work processes.
  • Act as a sounding board, coach, and confidant on people matters for ExCo and EEG members.
  • Work closely with the EDI team to implement EDI strategies across the organization.
  • PARTICIPATE IN INFLUENCE AND INFORM BOARDS, COMMITTEES, INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS AS REQUIRED.
  • Maintain effective operational support teams (People Ops, Health and Safety) with a customer service mindset.
