Biomedical Scientist - Histology

Location: HCA Laboratories, Shropshire House, London

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday – Friday

Type: Full time

We're seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our Histology team at HCA Laboratories in London. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing a high-quality and effective Histopathology laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Biomedical Scientist and liaise with the Section Head with the day-to-day and strategic management of the Histopathology Department.
  • Use your skills and knowledge to provide a high-quality and effective Histopathology laboratory service.
  • Follow HCA Labs standing policies and procedures to ensure an efficient delivery of laboratory service.
  • Comply with the code of practice of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and HCPC and work consistently to ISO and UKAS accreditation.
  • Carry out unsupervised routine and complex investigations and analysis of tissue using specialised laboratory equipment.
  • Be responsible for delegated tasks involved in the day-to-day organisation and delivery of a clinical pathology service with high standards of patient care.
  • Perform timely and accurate processing of samples and laboratory techniques in accordance with departmental approved SOPs.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Biomedical Science or similar.
  • Experience in a Histology lab.
  • Member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
  • Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences is desirable.
