At Howden Group Holdings, we are seeking a Senior Claims Executive to join our UK Specialty business in Birmingham. This exciting opportunity supports our Sports & Entertainment (S&E) team and is a new headcount due to growth in the area.

The successful candidate will handle claims from start to finish, working closely with clients and insurers to ensure seamless administration and excellent service.

Key responsibilities include creating comprehensive claims documents, presenting claims to underwriters, and reviewing correspondence to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have significant claims experience, a good understanding of insurance principles, and strong knowledge of claims-handling processes. They will also be highly organized, able to work flexibly, and build sustainable relationships.

Key areas of focus

  • Create comprehensive claims documents and handle client claims and settlements.
  • Present claims to underwriters, deal with queries, provide feedback, and respond to clients, insurers, and internal departments.
  • Review and prepare correspondence regarding notifications and claims to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Keep clients and insurers informed of developments relating to notifications and claims, liaising with third parties as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve queries from clients, following them through to resolution and keeping all parties informed.
  • Develop strong relationships and negotiate with markets to achieve the best outcome for clients.
  • Maintain delegated authority contracts appropriately and cost-effectively.

You

  • Significant previous claims experience, particularly in liability, personal accident, or property.
  • Good understanding of insurance principles.
  • Strong knowledge of claims-handling processes.
  • Understanding of broking and underwriting processes.
  • Highly organized, with excellent planning skills.
  • Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines.
  • Able to build sustainable relationships.
