Job Summary: We're seeking a skilled Cancer Treatment Specialist to join our team. As a Cancer Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for administering chemotherapy drugs safely and efficiently, monitoring patients for adverse reactions, and providing support throughout the treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Chemotherapy Drugs: Safely and efficiently administer chemotherapy drugs to patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients for adverse reactions, reporting any concerns or issues to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Treatment Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to patients undergoing cancer treatment, addressing their concerns and needs throughout the process.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Nursing Registration: Possess valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered General Nurse.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 6 months' experience in the last 2 years within a speciality such as oncology nursing, working as a Staff Nurse or Senior Staff Nurse.
  • Oncology Course: Hold a relevant specialist course or equivalent experience in oncology nursing, along with a recognised chemotherapy course or equivalent.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate excellent clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based nursing practices, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Availability: Be flexible to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and commit to providing compassionate and patient-centred care.
  • Clearance: Hold Enhanced DBS clearance or be willing to undergo a DBS check.
  • Training: Complete mandatory training relevant to the role.

Job Details:

  • Salary: £22.00-£46.00 per hour.
  • Hours: Work 8 – 40 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Flexibility to work 10-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts, 8-hour shifts, day shifts, every weekend, Monday to Friday, night shifts, overtime, and weekend availability.

  • Right to Work: Possess the right to work in the UK.
  • NMC Pin: Hold a valid NMC Pin.
