We are seeking a highly skilled Product Technologist to join our team at LeMieux. As a key member of our Design team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and technical accuracy of our horse products and accessories.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the fit and technical process of all horse products and accessories from initial sample to delivery handover.
- Check the quality and makeup of samples across multiple product areas, and oversee all aspects of garment fit, testing, and wearer trials.
- Follow through with overseas factories on comments to be actioned, and ensure all products are fit to proceed to full production.
- Assist in the creation of spec sheets, ensuring all technical attributes are correct and well communicated.
- Lead fit sessions for all relevant products, relaying fit comments and amendments to suppliers, and keeping all fit records up to date.
- Work with Design to create clear technical packs, including size specs and specific construction details, ensuring this is well communicated to suppliers.
- Update size specs, write up and record comments and data, and monitor the sampling process and update the critical path.
- Test report creation and approvals, maintain a physical sample library and storage, and keep historic logs and accurate updates of samples status.
- Check incoming samples for measurement and design discrepancies, and assist in Quality Control, checking production/received stock for sizing and fabric consistency.
- Daily liaison with overseas suppliers to ensure deadlines are met and the critical path stays up to date.
- Proven industry experience in a similar role, preferably in sports/equestrian wear product development.
- Product/Garment Technologist Qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of garment fit, technical construction, and makeup, and confident in grading and sizing.
- Knowledge of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience working with overseas factories.
- Ability to follow and manage their time according to the critical path.
- CAD skills and experience using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop would be an advantage.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Flexible attitude to work, with the ability to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
- Ability to take initiative in any given role and be willing to assist where necessary.
- Ability to work alone, on one's own initiative, as well as within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
- Equestrian background is not essential but would be an advantage, being passionate about product is essential, as is taking an interest in the equestrian world.
