About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Full-Time Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Wilby High School in Waterbury, Connecticut. As a licensed independent provider, you will play a vital role in providing diagnostic psychosocial evaluations, developing care plans with clients and their families, and offering individual, family, or group therapy as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial behavioral health evaluations for children and/or adults in an outpatient setting.
  • Practice as part of an interdisciplinary team, accepting referrals from primary care providers and other healthcare professionals.
  • Consult with psychiatric consultants for diagnostic and consultative needs, referring patients as necessary for medication management.
  • Coordinate with school administration and staff to promote school-based services and support student well-being.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, ensuring compliance with state regulatory and Joint Commission standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing treatment, making adjustments as needed to meet client goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D./Psy.D., LCSW, LPC, or LMFT degree
  • Licensed in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with outpatients, including experience with children and/or adults
  • Strong clinical skills, with knowledge and experience in evidence-based practices

Benefits and Salary:

This is a full-time salaried position, following a school-based calendar of 195 days per year. The estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
