Job Title: Business Risk Specialist

About the Role:

The Business Risk Specialist will be responsible for coordinating risk and control responsibilities, ensuring accountabilities are embedded within the Cross Border Payments business. This includes monitoring and reporting activities, developing and implementing new controls, and identifying and documenting manual and automated controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate risk and control responsibilities and ensure accountabilities are embedded within the Cross Border Payments business.
  • Monitor and report on risk and control activities, including MCA (Manager Control Assessment) and issue management.
  • Develop and implement new controls in response to business risks, and identify and document manual and automated controls.
  • Support the Cross Border Payments business in implementing key frameworks and policies to achieve a sound risk and control environment.
  • Assist in coordinating issue management, including issue oversight and reporting, and inputting to root cause analysis and issue remediation.
  • Identify, assess, record, and respond to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring these are captured accurately and timely.
  • Enhance effective financial management through supporting the business with capturing the P&L impact of Operational Risk Events.
  • Escalate issues appropriately to management in line with Citi's Escalation Policy, and support the Escalation Champion in monitoring and recording escalations.
  • Support coordination of and input to Product Risk Reviews across all relevant risk stripes.
  • Contribute to assessment and management of the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business.
  • Contribute to program to enhance Product Approval Programs to ensure identified inherent risks have been appropriately mitigated.
  • Support the Cross Border Payments business on audits, reviews, and exams to ensure appropriate preparation and remediation.
  • Work collaboratively within the team and with business and functional line management to assess broader and complex issues, develop potential solutions, and drive effective resolution.
  • Support standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
  • Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in business risk and controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and proactive - takes ownership.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Effective organizational influencing skills required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with regional and global partners in other functional units.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
