Developer Relations Director

As a key member of the Guidewire team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering relationships with developers at our customer and partner organizations, as well as the broader ecosystem.

Your mission will be to engage with the developer community through workshops, hackathons, and speaking engagements, showcasing the power and versatility of our platform, applications, and content.

Collaborating closely with the product and engineering teams, you will provide technical enablement materials to support developers in their roles, helping them unlock the full potential of our products.

With your deep understanding of developer needs and your ability to articulate complex technical concepts in an accessible manner, you will inspire and empower developers to innovate and create value within our ecosystem.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Regularly soliciting product feedback and sharing it with internal teams
  • Recruiting, hosting, and scaling the Developer Advisory Group (DAG) in your geographic region
  • Helping program manage Stack Overflow engagement
  • Scheduling, planning, and promoting at least two virtual webinars per year
  • Contributing one blog post per month, demonstrating the technical use of a Guidewire product, feature, or capability and how it provides value to P&C insurers
  • Developing, fostering, and nurturing relationships with developers employed by our partner organizations and customers
  • Creating a developer case study / success story 1x per year
  • Scheduling, planning, and promoting one local hackathon per year
  • Promoting growth of Guidewire Certifications for developers in your region
  • Working with the Director of Developer Relations to schedule, plan, and promote the annual DEVSummit, taking a more prominent role when localized to your region
  • Assisting the Director of Developer Relations with our annual DEVHack virtual competition
  • Growing your own specialized expertise in Digital front-end development, OR Integration development, OR Cloud DevOps, OR Data science, OR Business process automation development, AND Generative AI

Metrics for success:

  • Size and growth of regional developer community and local DAG
  • Attendance, participation, and submissions from local hackathon
  • Engagement metrics for contributed blog posts
  • Engagement metrics for Developer-focused case study
  • Referrals to Guidewire certifications for developers in your geographic region
  • Monthly posts & users on Dev Forum
  • Registrants and attendees for virtual webinars/events
  • DEVSummit registrations from your region
  • DEVHack applications, teams, and submissions
