Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Support Coordinator to join our team at Cardinal Medical Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the repeat prescribing system, ensuring an accurate, timely, and efficient service.

Main Duties

* Manage the repeat prescribing system to ensure an accurate, timely, and efficient service.
* Scan and summarise Read Code relevant information from external correspondence into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice summarising protocol.
* Support and deputise for other members of the administration team when required.

About Us

Cardinal Medical Practice is a paper-light environment, with a clinical team of 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, 3 GP Registrars, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Physicians Associates, Practice Nurses, Nurse Associates, Healthcare Assistants, Care Co-ordinators, and additional healthcare professionals. The team is supported by Management and a large administrative team.

Job Responsibilities

* Deal with requests for patients for repeat issues of their medication.
* Ensure the prescribing is carried out in a cost-effective and safe way and patients only receive what they need.
* Remove any discontinued medication from the prescribing screen under GP supervision.
* Check patients' records to ensure they have had the necessary health checks and blood tests needed.
* Maximise the efficiency of the practice by checking patient alerts and dealing with them as part of the repeat prescribing service.
* Review patients' records to ensure they receive regular medication reviews as appropriate.
* Assist the GP Prescribing lead to meet prescribing targets by switching patients to more cost-effective medication.
* Liaise with pharmacies in respect of patient queries.
* Manage the stock of prescriptions and prescription pads to ensure the clinical staff have access to supplies.
