Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll department and play a key role in supporting the strategic growth of our business. As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for leading a stable team and developing the strategic direction of the payroll department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a high-performing payroll department, ensuring the team is equipped with the required training, development, and resources to deliver best-in-class payroll services.
  • Develop the strategic direction of the payroll department, working with key internal stakeholders and external service providers/consultants.
  • Business partner with key stakeholders across the group, ensuring key performance metrics are measured, successfully delivered, and reviewed for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Instil best practice and a customer service culture across the team, ensuring the team takes pride in the service they provide and is recognised accordingly.
  • Manage key payroll enhancement projects, ensuring key stakeholders are fully informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Must have previous experience of leading and mentoring a team.
  • Must have at least 5 years UK Payroll experience.
  • Must have end-to-end payroll experience/technical payroll knowledge.
  • Must have experience of multiple payrolls, ideally across multiple entities, and must have operated medium to large-sized payrolls (1000 employees plus).
  • Must have a full UK driver's license and access to a car.
  • Previous experience of payroll projects/improvements, etc.
  • Experience of working with accounts around reporting, balance sheet, nominal ledger, etc.
