Job Title: Girls Pathway Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach

Reports to: Strength & Conditioning Lead/Clinical Director

Contract: Permanent Full-Time

Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

Salary: £25,000 per annum

Location: Somerset County Cricket Club

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead our Girls Pathway programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, programming, and delivering a physical development programme that optimises the physical progression of pathway players.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strength and conditioning, with experience working with youth development teams. They will be able to work collaboratively with the wider Sport Science and Medicine team to ensure players have the physical qualities to transition into the professional game.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, diligent, and motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work under pressure and make strong decisions, while being approachable, reflective, and empathetic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, programme, and deliver a physical development programme for pathway players
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Sport Science and Medicine team to ensure players have the physical qualities to transition into the professional game
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with players, coaches, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of the Girls Pathway programme, including identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate qualification in a sporting field (or equivalent)
  • Postgraduate qualification in strength and conditioning (or equivalent)
  • UKSCA accreditation (or working towards)
  • Experience working with youth development teams in strength and conditioning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and make strong decisions
  • Approachable, reflective, and empathetic
