About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community, a leading provider of residential care and support services for children and young adults with emotional behavioural difficulties and social and emotional mental health needs.

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our young people, helping them to develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and care to our young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with our young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small team to provide a safe and supportive environment for our young people.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that the needs of our young people are met.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with our young people and their families.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or a related field, or be willing to work towards one.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car, as travel may be required.
