Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Validator to join our Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme Team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our data, supporting clinical and business requirements, and improving decision-making across the organization.

About the Role

The Data Quality Validator will be responsible for promoting high-quality data recording across all systems, providing expert advice and support to users, and analyzing complex data to identify quality issues. You will work closely with our Clinical Coding Team, ICT Trainers, and other departments to develop and maintain audit reports, improvement plans, and data quality dashboards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental procedures and guidelines to ensure data quality.
  • Provide expert advice and support to users on data quality issues, including receiving, producing, interpreting, and communicating complex and sensitive information.
  • Analyze complex data to identify quality issues and develop data quality reports to inform action plans.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Coding Team, ICT Trainers, and other departments to develop and maintain audit reports, improvement plans, and data quality dashboards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with users to identify potential data quality problems and provide targeted support and training.
  • Monitor data quality reports and audits, and investigate data quality queries raised by other sources, including external organizations.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of NHS Data Model and Dictionary definitions and good understanding of the Information Quality Assurance Initiative in the Information Governance Toolkit.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex data definitions and procedures and transfer understanding to non-technical staff.
  • Investigating and resolving complex issues by interpreting information, using judgment when information is not clearly defined.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a dedicated team, planning and re-planning own and team workload.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to persuade and motivate all levels of staff within the organization.
