Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design to join our team at GE Aerospace. As a key member of our Advanced Mechanical Design (AMD) Team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of our RISE Open Fan Program, solutions, and systems for polymer composites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Use high-level judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience in design engineering.
  • Composite component design experience.
Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree.
  • Composite design, test, and manufacturing experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • FMEA (ANSYS solver, Hypermesh software, and CAD Modeling via NX PLM Teamcenter software) experience.
  • Programming skills (C++, Matlab, Python, or other equivalent software).
  • Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within composite Aerospace and/or Aviation products.
